Kid's Craft Gift Wrap

There are many beautiful types of wrapping paper in the stores and under the tree each year.  Some of the most beautiful that Santa enjoys seeing is this wrapping paper you can make at home.

Acrylic or Tempera Paints
Inexpensive paint brush (1/2 inch wide)
Craft sponges may be used as well
5 years or younger can use an old toothbrush
Small containers to put paint in (yogurt containers, egg cartons, etc.)
Paper to paint- Brown craft paper, newsprint or butcher paper
Lots of paper towels to clean up
Lots of newspaper to spread on the floor
Wear old clothes

Pour a small amount of paint into your container. Add a little water to thin it down some. Stir it well. Do this for as many colors as you want to use.

Cut pieces of paper whatever size you want. Dip your brush into the paint.   Hold the brush above the paper and tap the brush with your other hand sharply so the paint splatters onto the paper. Little ones using a paint brush can flick their thumb across the brush.  You can also make creative shapes with craft sponges and make some interesting patterns by dipping the sponge in the paint and press gently against the paper. Continue this with just one color until you have as much on as you like.

You can add more color layers but make sure your first layer is completely dry.
